PATRICK YOUNG
Patrick graduated with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy (MScPT) from Dalhousie University in 2012 and worked for 11 years in Lower Sackville, NS before returning to the Annapolis Valley to open his own clinic. He also worked for 6 years as a part-time lab instructor at Dalhousie University in the Orthopaedic Physiotherapy program, fostering his love for teaching. After growing up in Bridgetown, returning to the Valley has always been one of Patrick’s goals; he missed the small town life of his youth and wanted this experience for his children.
In 2016, Pat received his diploma of Manipulative Physiotherapy through the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT – see below for details). He has completed courses in Shirley Sahrmann’s Movement System Impairment model, dry needling, acupuncture, vestibular rehabilitation, post-concussion rehabilitation, myofascial mobilization, pain education, taping, and Stuart McGill’s back rehabilitation. Pat also has specialized training in the treatment of runners, ACL post-operative repairs, power lifters, and CrossFit athletes.
Patrick loves working with patients of all ages and thoroughly enjoys the social aspect of his job. Using evidence-based rehabilitation, he tailors each patient’s exercise program to their unique needs, with a focus on functional goals. He strongly believes in the power of patient education and exercise prescription as therapeutic tools, in addition to manual therapy as a supplementary tool to promote the healing progression.
Outside of work, Pat is an active and exhausted father of two energetic young children, and loving husband to co-owner Natalie. He continues to live the dream of being the best middle- aged hockey player he can be while rehabilitating his consequential injuries of living life as a weekend warrior.

NATALIE YOUNG
Natalie graduated with her Masters in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University in 2012. Prior to that she obtained a Bachelor in Kinesiology also at Dalhousie. Since 2012, Natalie worked primarily in the private sector in Hammonds Plains, NS. During that time, she worked with an array of patient populations including seniors with mobility and balance issues, MVA injuries, acute/chronic injuries, and athletes of all ages and level.
Since graduating Natalie has done several post graduate courses including: acupuncture, movement system impairments, levels 1 through 3 of the advanced integrated musculoskeletal physiotherapy program, McKenzie Method of treating low back pain, neuromobilization, myofascial manipulation, therapeutic/athletic taping, GLA:D, and diagnostic imaging.
With the start of her family in 2018, Natalie shifted her focus to the public sector and is now working full time on a multidisciplinary team of health professionals at a local hospital. Her current role and passion involves empowering patients with hip and knee osteoarthritis through education and exercise. Here at Valley Motion Physiotherapy, Natalie holds a behind the scene role, but you’ll still catch her at the clinic on occasion.
Natalie is originally from New Brunswick and enjoys how similar the Annapolis Valley is to her home province. Outside of work, Natalie considers herself a ‘fair weather runner’, and can be seen running the Harvest Moon Trailway on those perfect running days. When she’s not running, she can be found spending time with her husband, Pat and their two children (or at Frenchy’s).
